“Claw” ~7th Division~ is the ninth episode of the Mob Psycho 100 anime adaptation.
Synopsis[]
Mob, Hanazawa and Dimple set off to rescue Ritsu and the Awakening Lab kids who had been kidnapped. Meanwhile, Ritsu and the other kids make their own plans to escape from their confinement.
Summary[]
Entering Claw's 7th Division building, Yusuke is surprised that Ritsu managed to hurt Megumu, but Megumu explains it was another much stronger esper kid. He had to use the spray on him and escape as he wasn't a match for him. Yusuke gets annoyed as their orders are to capture the strongest espers, and he lets that one go. Terada overhears them and tells them he will help them and make sure the division leader doesn't find out. As Terada heads out, Yusuke wonders if he can beat the kid, and Megumu explains that he is stronger than Terada, but doesn't take Mob seriously. If he did, he could have beaten him easily in the beginning, but guesses Terada will go fully prepared and won't underestimate the situation.
Teruki offers his help to Mob, explaining that a Claw member will be coming for them soon, and at that moment, Terada shows up. But he ends up letting his guard down and is easily defeated. Teruki ends up torturing him, and Terada spills everything. Meanwhile, the Upper Echelon members of the 7th Division have a meeting, and their division leader informs them that the boss will be returning to Japan in a month and will take some of them to the HQ base, but that won't be Megumu due to how much he screwed up today.
Ritsu and the other espers are talking with Muto, who tries to convince them to join Claw. As they refuse, he takes one of the twins, Kaito, and kills him in the other room and shows them his body. Ritsu wants to escape, and Daichi explains that his brother Kaito is alive. He was shown that the rest are dead, making him believe that Muto uses some hypnosis ability. Ritsu forms a plan, and he manages to get out of the cell and go into the camera's blind spot as he defeats the guards. They proceed to look for Kaito using Rei's ability. Terada takes Mob and Teruki to their base, but manages to escape. He attacks them, and Teruki takes him on, but Terada manages to catch him with his whips. Mob then smashes Terada between two trees and defeats him, making Teruki comment that the moment Mob considers you an enemy, you are done and that the battle will only last one night. They knock out two guards, and Dimple takes over one of them.
The Upper Echelon leaders realize they have intruders, and Megumu heads out to face Mob and kill him this time. As he finds them, Mob says he doesn't have time and uses his powers to stop him and start smashing him against the walls, until he is knocked out. As Megumu doesn't respond, the Upper Echelon members realize they are against someone strong.
