"Confession ~The Future~" is the thirty-seventh, as well as the final episode of the Mob Psycho 100 anime adaptation, and twelfth, as well as the final episode of the third season.
Synopsis[]
The vortex created by ??? continues to head to Tsubomi's location who decides to wait for Mob's arrival. Elsewhere Reigen tries to Reach Mob and
Plot[]
Watching the swirling vortex from afar, Tsubomi notes how it is heading in her direction. Despite this, however, Tsubomi decides to stay and wait for Mob's arrival.
Meanwhile, Katsuya and Reigen struggle to make their way to Mob's location. Midway, Serizawa advises Reigen to turn back as his energy is being drained from his body at an alarming rate. Instead, Reigen asks that Serizawa head back as he continues onward noting he wants to have a one-on-one talk with Mob.
As ??? continues onward in the real world, in the mental world, fragments of Mob continue flaking off of himself and onto ???. He would also continue to claim that Tsubomi would accept him better than Mob would. Furthermore, ??? reveals that the only reason why Mob loves Tsubomi is because she accepts him despite his esper powers.
In the real world, Reigen finally gets close enough to ??? and calls out to him as Mob. ??? and Mob's debate then gravitates over to Reigen as ???'s opines his thoughts on Reigen and his relationship with him. Although realizing his inadequacy to Mob's torment, Mob fully flaks away onto ??? who now has full control of him. Through sheer willpower and determination, a beat-up Reigen manages to reach Mob, only to be rejected by ???.
However, Reigen again stops ??? only this time, he was partly possessed by Dimple for a brief period. This allows Reigen to finally confess to Mob that he doesn't have any psychic powers. Hearing this causes ??? to stop his rampage as Reigen continues his confession about his lies and remorse. Because of it, Mob makes peace with himself and reaches Kageyama Shigeo 100%.
Finally at peace with himself, Mob with a single dandelion in hand, Mob heads over to Tsubomi's location where she politely rejects him. Although emotionally disheartened by the rejection, Reigen consoles Mob and then contacts Serizawa to help repair the badly damaged city.
A new school year has started and Mob continues his Body Improvement Club activities with Jun now leading the club with a bunch of new freshment students. Later, Mob walks with Ritsu who was now Vice President of the Student Council and Mob was the same with the Body Improvement Club. Midway, they see a cat trapped atop a telephone pole and Mob climbs it only for it to escape by leaping into a tree.
Soon afterward, the two run into Teru who walks with them to "the location", which was the Spirits and Such Consultation Office. There they're all greeted by Serizawa and Tome who had since become a secretary for the office. Eventually, they're joined by the other Telepathy Club members, the Awakening Lab Members, and Sho.
Mameta then spots Reigen outside and warns everyone that he's on his way there. As everyone hides, Reigen walks up the stairway with Dimple into the office where everyone surprises Reigen with a surprise birthday party.
