"Transmission 1 ~Winter Break~" is the thirty-second episode of the Mob Psycho 100 anime adaptation, and seventh episode of the third season.
Synopsis[]
Tome officially disbands the Telepathy Club due to the other member lack of motivation, and they seek out Mob's help to fulfill Tome's dream of telepathically contacting UFOs. With Kaito and Daichi's help, they summon a telepath to them which turns out to be Takenaka, a former club member, and Mob convinces him to help with their endeavor.
Plot[]
Tome learns in her class that her and Haruto's school graduation is drawing near and announces that when they graduate, the Telepathy Club will likely dissolve. Although the other members brush it off, Tome becomes emotional that they've failed to make anything indelible, like communicating with aliens. A lackluster response from her fellow club members causes Tome to take an incredibly deep sigh and officially disband the Telepathy Club. In light of this, Mameta suggests they read the UFO-related books that were there.
Afterward, Mob is visited at his home by Mameta, Haruto, and Saruta, who request Mob's help with telepathy. Sadly though, Mob is incapable of using Telepathy, but Ritsu mentions a couple who do. Those ones were Daichi and Kaito; however, their telepathy only works between them. On the other hand, they mention they can combine their powers and emit a signal to attract a telepath to them. Intrigued, Mob volunteers to help them for Tome's sake.
At the Body Improvement Club room, the group debriefs on how they'll signal a telepath to them using Mob as an amplifier. By doing this, former member Takenaka, who had since joined the Tennis Club, appears. Learning of their endeavor, Takenaka downplays it, but when the signal is resent, it's revealed that he was a telepath. Takenaka then explains how he learned and began to exploit his abilities. Despite disagreeing with helping the group, Mob states that Takenaka wanted to find a kindred spirit in the club, and Takenaka confirms the notion. It was disappointing to him that none of the club members had any real telepaths; Takenaka left the club in disappointment. However, Takenaka was convinced by Mob to stay and help them.
Meanwhile, at the Spirits and Such Consultation Office, Reigen deals with a client, and, after this, invites Serizawa for a drink later. Serizawa declines the offer as he has prior commitments with his school friends and then receives a call from Mob about his UFO job. Reluctantly Reigen agrees to it, but on the day of the job, to his dismay, he oversleeps. Initially, Tome is believed not to be interested, but meets up with Mob and the other Telepathic club members at the pre-determined meeting point. As they wait for the last two people, Takenaka later arrives and admits to Tome that he's a telepath. Once that was settled, they rushed over to the parking lot, where Reigen, who arrived two minutes before their arrival, greeted them. The group are then driven to Mt. Mudboat where the UFO calling would commence.
