"Divine Tree 2 ~Peace~" is the thirtieth episode of the Mob Psycho 100 anime adaptation, and fifth episode of the third season.
Synopsis[]
Mob finally confronts the one responsible for the people's strange behaviors and obsession towards the Divine Tree and Psycho Helmet Religion. However, he first has to face off Teruki, who has unfortunately been brainwashed by Psycho Helmet.
Plot[]
Receiving a round of applause from members of the Psycho Helmet Cult, with some familiar faces in the crowd, Mob walks toward the Divine Tree. As Mob does, Mob receives a divine message from Psycho Helmet, relaying that its members acknowledge him as its first founder and asks if he relishes the applause. However, Mob softly denies it and, as he walks up the roots to the Tree, says he'd like an audience with him. Entering into the Divine Tree and navigating himself through it, Mob learns of the goals and motivations from a divine message by Psycho Helmet. Reaching the innermost part of the Divine Tree, Mob finds a constrained Teru, causing his explosive progress to grow to 69%. Behind him, Psycho Helmet appeared, but Mob recognized him as Dimple.
With his facade broken, Dimple again asks Mob if he'd like to join him, detailing the perks of the offer; however, Mob rejects it again. Figuring that would be his answer, Dimple explains his plans for world domination by forcefully proselytizing people into his religion. Releasing Teru from his confinement, Mob exclaims that what Dimple's doing is wrong as it's manipulating the vulnerable hearts of the people in the city. However, Teru puts his hand on Mob's shoulder and claims that Dimple's plan isn't evil, but misunderstood. Teru then warns Mob that if he lays a hand on Dimple, he'll have to go through him. Hearing this causes Mob's explosive progress raises to 72%, and he attacks Psycho Helmet and the clone that sprouts, causing Teru to retaliate. Again, Mob's explosive progress rises to 80%, and he manages to restrain Teru psychically, but thanks to the gift of Divine Power he's received, Teru frees himself and defeats Mob. Plunged into a deeper part of the Tree and entangled in its roots, Mob sets off a psychic explosion causing his explosive progress to rise to 89%, and launches Teru out of the Tree too.
From there, Psycho Helmet clones attack Mob, and as he defends himself while asking where Dimple is, Mob's explosive progress gradually rises from 90% to 92%. Soon after defeating multiple clones, Mob realizes his power is being drained, and Dimple confirms it while finally appearing before him. Dimple then has an apparition of Tsubomi try and convince him to stop making trouble for the Psycho Helmet cult, but it raises his explosive progress to 93%. After Dimple explains why Mob doesn't have a chance with Tsubomi, Mob then slaps and thrashes Dimple until he stops him in his humanoid form. Having enough of Mob's torment, Dimple powers up into his God Dimple Form, which is his humanoid form, but gold. Unimpressed by Dimple's transformation, Mob's explosive progress to 95% and then 98% as he takes Dimple's God-titled attacks.
Noting that he's witnessed a couple of instances where Mob was at his limit, but with the power, he's culminated, Dimple is confident that he's capable of defeating Mob. Getting up, Mob claims that Dimple shouldn't hold back as the power, actions, and words are all "fake" and cannot accept it. Infuriated, Dimple empowers himself even more and shoots off a Godly Beam at Mob, causing his explosive to rise to 98%. Astonished that Mob is not only still alive, but still has immense power left in him, Dimple resolves to finish him off before he does it to him. After a brief heart-to-heart between them, Dimple physically enhances himself and throws a punch at Mob, causing the top of his school uniform to blow away, revealing his monkey shirt. Seeing this causes Dimple to claim it looks lame, which shocks Mob.
