"Collision ~Power Type~" is the twenty-second episode of the Mob Psycho 100 anime adaptation, and the tenth episode of the second season.

Synopsis

The boss of Claw, Suzki, barricades himself into Seasoning City Culture Tower after declaring war on the world. After instantly removing the police barriers, they make their next move. Meanwhile, back at the hideout, Reigen and the others were also making their move. The former members of the 7th Division and the Awakening Lab head to the tower under Reigen's instruction. Sho and Ritsu also make their move to stop Suzuki's plans.

Plot

News spreads of Claw taking over and barricading themselves in the Seasoning Cultural Tower, where Prime Minister Yabe is also believed to be held hostage. Inside the hideout, Teru warns his allies of Ryo skills and his ability to teleport.

Meanwhile, at the Seasoning Cultural Tower, Suzuki and the Ultimate 5 members observe as the artificial Espers annihilate the police forces outside. Suzuki then assigns the U5 members their tasks and sends them off.

Back at the hideout, Reigen advises handling the situation by waiting until things blow over. On the other hand, the Former Scar members believe it's best to retaliate now. At first, Reigen brushes off the Scar member's proposal; however, after he's contacted about his insurance not going through, he does a 180 and allows them to go wild. Unbeknownst to everyone, Reigen's true motive behind his newfound inspiration was fueled by his insurance denying to pay for the damages done by the arsonist esper.

Ritsu and Sho defeat the artificial espers out on the field until they're confronted by Minegishi. Sho's subordinates, Otsuki, Higashio, and Fukuda volunteer to deal with Minegishi.

Teru's group used their telepathy to create a diversion to allow the main group to infiltrate the Seasoning Cultural Tower Claw had taken over. At the hideout, Reigen with Dimple babysits the sleeping Mob, and Kenji warns them about Claw infiltrators. Instead of running away, Reigen hides in a refrigerator, but is easily found by the Claw members, who are knocked unconscious by the spray he confiscated from Sakurai. Reigen's good luck runs short after inadvertently turning Shibata into an indomitable juggernaut hell-bent on crushing Mob the spray was used on him. To protect Mob, Dimple possesses Mob's body and escapes, but is forced to fight back when Shibata tries to hurt Tsubomi. Using Mob's body as a shield, Dimple is sent flying, and his possession over Mob is undone.

All hope seemingly lost, Mob's body is caught and taken care of by the Body Improvement Club, who attempt to stop Shibata. However, nearly all of them, aside from Musashi, were overpowered by Shibata, leaving Musashi to protect Mob. Musashi states that Mob's determination and tenacity gave them the courage to go on and that he will protect Mob. Taking advantage of the situation, Dimple takes possession of Musashi and releases the full usage of his muscles, surpassing Shibata's psychically-augmented muscular strength. When Dimple un-possesses Musashi's body, the members of the Body Improvement Club believe that their captain defeated Shibata on an adrenaline rush. As they toss Musashi in the air in celebration, Shibata gets back up, and Musashi cannot fight back; however, Mob finally awakens and defeats Shibata for good.

While Mob is briefed on the current situation by Dimple, Ritsu and Sho reach the tower.

Anime and Manga Differences

• A short scene of Sho defeating Claw soldiers is omitted.
• Both the Shiratori brothers are in Teru's team in the manga, while in the anime, only Kaito is with him.
• Mukai doesn't appear on any of the teams.
• The scene where Middle School Gang Leaders fight with Claw soldiers is omitted.
• In the manga, Shimazaki tells the Scars what their scars mean in the sewers, while in the anime, he tells it in the next episode, during battle.
• The Antenna Team of Claw is completely cut from the anime.
• Shibata beating up people on his way was omitted.
• The scene with Shibata beating up a policeman and Dimple (possessing Mob) shooting Shibata was omitted.
• The scene where the Body Club takes Shibata to the hospital was omitted.
