Communication is the ninety-eighth chapter of the Mob Psycho 100 manga series.

Synopsis[]

With it almost winter break, and it is getting closer to Tome's end of year exams and her Salt Mid graduation date, she talked to the Telepathy Club about how the club will naturally come to an end without having created any memories and got a mediocre response from them. She started crying, and broke down in front of the apathetic club members. After realizing that the Telepathy Club didn't mean as much to the other members, she calmed down and left the room stating that the Telepathy Club was now disbanded.

The Telepathy Club realized then exactly how much the Telepathy Club meant to Tome, and that she was more serious about contacting the aliens with telepathy than they realized. They went to Mob's house to ask him if he could do telepathy but Mob said that he couldn't. Inukawa broke down in front of Mob, and then explained the situation; overhearing this, Ritsu stated that he knew some real telepaths, and offered to call them up.

The Telepathy Club, Mob and Ritsu then met the Shiratori brothers, Kaito and Daichi, but the brothers revealed they could only use telepathy between themselves, though they could emit an annoying telepathic signal that, with the help of another esper, could be used to attract other telepaths. They all went to the Body Improvement Club room, where Mob boosted the Shiratori brothers' telepathic white noise. Soon, Takenaka appeared in the club room stating that he came to the room because it was cold outside, and he didn't want to collect tennis balls as per his Tennis Club duty. After finding out what they are doing, Takenaka began mocking them for still being obsessed with finding telepaths, calling them creepy. Mob and the Shiratori brothers decided to ignore him, and continued emitting the white noise. Takenaka mocked them further, until he snapped and asked them to stop making the annoying noise, thus revealing to all that Takenaka was a telepath.

Takenaka revealed how disappointed he was by the Telepathy Club's lack of actual psychic ability but the club was eventually able to convince him to help them contact aliens. The group contacted Tome and convinced her to join them, with Mob calling Reigen for a ride. Reigen, Mob, Tome, Takenaka, and the remaining Telepathy Club members went to a mountain outside Spice City that had a history of alien sightings. They were seemingly unsuccessful in contacting aliens, and Takenaka told them that the sightings were largely unconfirmed. Nonetheless, Kurata didn't mind, noting she enjoyed the trip. As they turned to leave, actual aliens showed up. They were taken up to the ship, where they had a party. As the humans left, they give gifts to the aliens with Inukawa giving them his handheld gaming device, which they mistook as a desire to immigrate. As a result, while the other humans were returned to the mountain as the sun rose, Inukawa was taken to the aliens' homeworld where he remained for 10 Earth days before finally returning.
